Ruger was my Fawn Doberman Pinscher. He was 10 months old and sweet. We got him last year, to use as a stud for our other females here at he kennel. I fell in love with him as soon as I saw him. We fed him Purina until he had a problem digesting the chemicals in it so we switched him to nutro all natural foods. We noticed that he had lost some weight so we asked our vet about it and he told us to feed him some wet food to boost him up. We did just that with two cans a day for two days. The first day he was fine. By the next day we noticed he was drinking allot, and stumbling. We called the vet and as it was late and the weekend (he was booked) we had to wait until Monday unless he got worse to keep an eye on him and bring him in if he did. Well we watched him he went for a short walk he romped a little with the girls, even though he seemed to rest allot. He was not interested in his food though and that was odd. We made him comfortable and we went to bed. The next morning I went to let all of my babies out to go potty only to find my boy gone. He had passed in the night. This was on a Saturday. We live in the country, I had no idea about a recall at this time. We did not here about it until Monday morning. Then it was a week after that when we learned it was rat poisoning we have rats here but we don't use poison for this reason alone. We have no poison on our property at all. Now the company is saying they only killed 16 pets. BS!!!!! Ruger was killed by their food. I know it! It was the only thing I gave him that was different from my other pets here. They say they will pay the cost of the vet. Well we don't have a Vet bill to pay. But I have heart ache, had to buy a new stud dog, cost of my ruger, his ears, care, kennel, and the pain that I allowed this to happen to him. I don't care what people say. I love my pets they are not just here to make money they are my pets also. I play with them give them baths, feed them, care for them, give them shots, I am their when they were born, when they are hurt I am their, they are my babies. Rosie O'Donnell is just a fat woman that has to much time on her hands. She would not like it if her pet (if she had one) was poisoned. She would be up in arms then. If I could talk to her I would tell her that our pets, are more like kids to us, and if it was baby food that was poisoned we would be up in arms but because it is just PETS we are not? Are our pets that disposable? Mine are not!!!!! They are my friends, and my lively hood, they keep my depression at bay and protect my home and kids.
I LOVED MY BABY AND THIS HURT SO MUCH!!!!!!

Aww I'm so sorry for your loss sweetie. Thank you so very much for sharing your story. I am doing my best to get the word out about this forum, sending emails out, posting it everywhere I can find. Hoping we'll have more great people like you to share this. I know how hard it is.

She was griping because the recalled pet food stories are all over the news. Basically said they weren't worthy of all of the media attention. I'm aware there are kids in bad situations, dying, being abused and what not. But we have the right to raise awareness for our pets and animals everywhere and I don't think she gets it. I think she likes making people mad.

I personally think she needs a big cork in her mouth. Sh e doesnt think before she speaks. I dont watch the view any more cause of her. I use to watch it all the time. But since she has been on I could care less. I am so offended about what she says. My baby was only 10 months old and he died cause a dog food company did not test the food he ate. I trusted them to make good food and he trusted me to give him good food. Now I have a dead boy and a company that says it was not thier food. They only know of 16 documented cases. GIVE ME A BREAK. Their are 10 cases just in my area alone and surrounding us their is more. How many more did not know what is going on cause they have no tv, or internet. I live in the country and I learned about it a day after it happened. Come on!!! it makes me sick that they are not being held responsible and ROSIE doesnt care. She is full of it.

I. I trusted them to make good food and he trusted me to give him good food. That's what has been the hardest on me. She trusted me and I gave her the dog food and it killed her. Each time I say it, I hurt more. I've had her babies on Pedigree (pouch) up until they were 6 weeks old, and the past 5 weeks have had them on Purina Puppy Chow. I'm making chicken and rice for them right now. It scares me so badly that I might lose them, their daddy and our other dog, a Lab to it too. I used to watch The View, I tune in every now and then, and then I hear her bash Elizabeth. It makes me so infuriated, she is very rude to her and then that comment she made about the recall made me even angrier than what I have been about all of this.

I cannot believe Rosie could say something like that. I also believe their are many starving children. This is not the issue though, somebody is killing our pets. Pet owners are suffering a great deal and the company must pay for this. In no way will this stop the suffering but it will help.

I did not even hear what she said about the recall just what people told me. I dont like her anyways she give girls a bad name. I could bash her on so many levels. I like trump now for bashing her. I dont like when people think our puppies are not important. They are to me. I dont care what they are cats or dogs. I only lost one and am so happy that we did not lose the others. I am still sad but I am more mad now. I dont have anymore tears to cry. I do have the mads. We are boycotting MENU FOODS. Any menu foods. We dont allow DIAMOND Dog Food in our house either. We like Purina. They have been good to us.

pay for the vets. Well first you have to prove that it was their food. They claim that the only 16 pets died because of thier negligence. Not the hundreds of actual pets that have died. Not the hundreds of people that have lost thier friends and companions. Mine wasnt just a stud dog as he was only 10 months old but my companion and friend. He would of actually save us money in the long run. We had to buy a new stud dog, look hard for one, and finally get one that we love. It is not the same though as he is 2 years old not 8 weeks when we got him. We dont have the same attachment. I loved my boy. Always wanted a fawn Doberman also. Now, they offer to pay VET bills for what? What about the cost of my pet? What about the heart ache of losing my friend? My companion? Their is no price that can cover what I have lost as I have also lost all the pups from him also. no way can they replace my boy. If I had lost my girls they would of had my hands around their necks. I trusted the food. I trusted the company. Now No Way.... Never.

my new pup is 10 months old- last month, i tried giving her some pedigree in the pouch--SHE WOULD NOT EAT IT! i had to throw it out---but i have another one, and i am saving it! my deceased dogs also ate that stuff---we gave them that, when we went back home----here, i was thinking, it would be convenient to feed them? i should shoot myself! but, my big question, and i want everyone to write about it--WHERE ARE THEY DISPOSING THESE 60 MILLION CANS OF FOOD? ?? i say it had better be canada and china. our pet store was very arrogant with us, when i said i was taking our bag of nutro back to them---i am sick of hearing....''it's not in the dry foods!" well, nutro......u used wheat gluten/poison making canned food---ya think it could have wafted over, to the dried foods? ?? READ how they make dogfood, on the API site i have been posting since march 17th.

betty white, rue mclanahan, bob barks, where the hell are you??? bob---u are always saying how we should be kind to animals----well, since too many people go by what hollywood says, where are all of you? do they all feed organic stuff to their pets? maybe they are too busy, with politics. it's just too sad. have u posted a star, on ''gone to dogstar''? i put 3 dogs on there, and the owner wrote me back, saying how she couldn't believe--how i lost 3 animals in one year. later, a 4th. i have switched over, to innova dog food. and she loves it. i will never skimp on her. and if she doesn't like it in the future, then she is getting steaks. (is that stuff safe tho?)

pay for the vets. Well first you have to prove that it was their food. They claim that the only 16 pets died because of thier negligence.. My vet is going to help me. Not sure how, but when I called them up last week and told them what I thought, they pulled all of Kali's files and said that it's a great possibility thats what it was. She was bleeding out and all, and rat poison makes them do that. There's another pup that just came in...on.. Tuesday, and she is in the same boat Kali was. They called me to see if Menu Foods had told me anything, they said the pup reminded them so much of Kali. Her people fed her Mighty Dog pouches. Sounded to me though that she was pretty much gone. I'm not sure how they can reverse it when they're that far into it. She was lethargic, and her temp had dropped just like Kali's did. Anyways, they have Kali's files and bloodwork (since I didn't do an autopsy) and are comparing them to that puppy that came in. They're supposed to give me a call sometime and let me know something.

Hello every one wanted to let you know what I was told.... That I should of taken RUGER to a vet when he died and had an Autopsy. Now I can not sue them cause I can not verify that he died of the posioning. That it was more than likely neglect. NO WAY!!! He was my baby and I had no idea the food I feed him was going to make him sick.
BOYCOTT MENU FOODS!!! is what I am doing. It is hard try finding a food that they dont make. The only one that I found that was well reprented was BLUE SEAL, My father has been useing them for years and has had no problems the other was purina. We like them but we have heard about thier chemicals in their foods also. I am at a lose of where to turn. As for celebrities... DO you hear any of them saying they loss a pup? Paris Hilton still has hers I bet. As for Bob Barker. come on he is retireing and has other things to think about. Does he actually own a pet? I give up on asking others for help why should they? I think the best thing is to stick together and BOYCOTT the MENU FOODS products and get the word out to everyone else to do the same. Have you checked their site lately? Any one know the actual tally? How many are dead today according to menu foods? Still at 16 I bet.

my point in mentioning those people, is that they always tell us on commercials, that they love animals---yeah, they get paid alot to say it----to me, they are not worthy of being admired as people who save pets. and i do not like barker. if that loser odonnell can spew her garbage about not wasting time on pets---i want equal coverage. who is she? a dirty mouth so called comedian? yes, comedian... i didn't spell it wrong.
